Lindsey Watson http://pointparktelevision.com/2011/10/03/lindsey-watson/ http://pointparktelevision.com/2011/10/03/lindsey-watson/#comments Mon, 03 Oct 2011 02:04:25 +0000 user http://pointparktelevision.com/?p=30 Hi my name is Lindsey Watson, I’m from Beaver Falls Pennsylvania & am a Junior Broadcast Journalism Major, with a Journalism Minor in (Investigative) Reporting. I have been volunteering at U-VIEW since my freshman year here at Point Park. Currently I have a work study job on campus in Student Production Services (SPS) and am also fulfilling my U-VIEW apprenticeship by acting as U-VIEW News and Sports Director, helping to supply and gain content and ideas for all of our great programing this year.

During the Fall 2011 semester I have had the opportunity to intern at both KDKA and The Pittsburgh CW working hard at two different positions, one in the mornings at KDKA’s Pittsburgh Today Live and the other as Promotions Editor for the CW. Each of these internships has supplied me with a great deal of knowledge and experience that I wouldn’t trade for the world!

As for my aspirations in journalism I would love to start off by working in the field reporting and work my way to behind the desk anchoring. Eventually, I hope my experiences leads me back home to Pittsburgh at a news station like KDKA. As I get older and gain more experience in this field I would love to someday write and produce an Investigative series like those seen on the E! News Network, E! Investigates.

In my spare time I love spending time in the city with my friends and family and cheering for all teams black and gold, especially the Pittsburgh Penguins!

Ear Candy is produced by broadcasting junior Alicia Lyons, who has an extreme passion for music and one day hopes to work for MTV or FUSE, so join her as she takes on her dream and interviews local bands and artists in the Pittsburgh Area. This show is guaranteed to give students opportunities to practice their interview skills, learn how to network, record, and have amazing opportunities in a real, professional environment. The show already kicked off with an interview at Stage AE with ALL TIME LOW on Friday the 26th and has plenty more shows to come. By being a member of Ear Candy, you’re welcome to pitch shows that you personally would like to go to and artists you would like to interview as well. The show will be mostly out of studio going to shows and concerts, but there will be some shows that will be in-studio with local artists. If you have any other questions, please contact Alicia at amlyons@pointpark.edu.
