Lindsey Watson

Hi my name is Lindsey Watson, I’m from Beaver Falls Pennsylvania & am a Junior Broadcast Journalism Major, with a Journalism Minor in (Investigative) Reporting. I have been volunteering at U-VIEW since my freshman year here at Point Park. Currently I have a work study job on campus in Student Production Services (SPS) and am also fulfilling my U-VIEW apprenticeship by acting as U-VIEW News and Sports Director, helping to supply and gain content and ideas for all of our great programing this year.

During the Fall 2011 semester I have had the opportunity to intern at both KDKA and The Pittsburgh CW working hard at two different positions, one in the mornings at KDKA’s Pittsburgh Today Live and the other as Promotions Editor for the CW. Each of these internships has supplied me with a great deal of knowledge and experience that I wouldn’t trade for the world!

As for my aspirations in journalism I would love to start off by working in the field reporting and work my way to behind the desk anchoring. Eventually, I hope my experiences leads me back home to Pittsburgh at a news station like KDKA. As I get older and gain more experience in this field I would love to someday write and produce an Investigative series like those seen on the E! News Network, E! Investigates.

In my spare time I love spending time in the city with my friends and family and cheering for all teams black and gold, especially the Pittsburgh Penguins!
